Al-bireh Society U.S. also strongly condemns the recent Israeli Settler attacks and vandalism on the Bir Wal Ehsan mosque in our beloved city of Al-bireh.

Article 33 of the Fourth Geneva Convention which reads in part:

“Individual responsibility, collective penalties, pillage and reprisals. No protected person may be punished for any offense he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited.”

Demolishing the homes of relatives of Palestinians who allegedly harmed or attempted to harm Israeli civilians or security personnel is prohibited collective punishment and is one of the most extreme measures used by Israel. According to data compiled by B’Tselem, over the last several decades Israel has demolished hundreds of homes, leaving homeless thousands of people who had done no wrong and were not suspected of any wrongdoing. It is an immoral and unlawful policy. Al-bireh Society, U.S. condemns such international human rights violations and calls upon all advocates of peace and justice to join it in its condemnation and calls to end the occupation.

Al-bireh Society U.S. also strongly condemns the recent Israeli Settler attacks and vandalism on the Bir Wal Ehsan mosque in our beloved city of Al-bireh. People everywhere must be allowed to observe and practice their faith in peace, as affirmed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Religious sites and all places of worship and contemplation should be safe havens, not sites of terror or bloodshed. This attack on the Bir Wal Ehsan mosque is not an isolated incident but one that is in lockstep with a history of settler colonial violence against our brethren in occupied Palestine. We will continue to support our Palestinian brethren in calling for the removal of all settlements, which have been declared a violation of international law, from all of occupied Palestine.

بيان شجب و إدانة

مثل خفافيش الظلام و كعادتهم قامت مجموعة من قطعان المستوطنين الذين يحتلون مغتصبة جبل الطويل في البيرة ، ممن يطلقون على أنفسهم مجموعة تدفيع الثمن بألإعتداء على مسجد البر و ألإحسان شرقي المدينة و أحرقوا بعض أجزائه و عاثوا خراباً بممتلكات المسجد .

لقد دأب هؤلاء الفاشيست العنصريون على تكرار ألإعتداءات على ممتلكات المواطنين في مدينة البيرة و تهديد حياتهم و أمنهم(الكثير من هؤلاء المواطنين يحملون الجنسية الاميركية) على مرأى و مسمع جيش إلإحتلال إلإسرائيلي دون أن يحرك ساكناً لوقف هذه إلإعتداءات ، أو أن يحاسب مرتكبيها ، بل على العكس قام بدعم هؤلاء و تشجيعهم ، على نحو يخالف النصوص و القوانين الدولية التي تلزم دولة إلإحتلال بحماية سكان ألأرض المحتلة ، بينما يلتزم سفير الولايات المتحدة الصمت تجاه إعتداءات كهذه.

إننا في جمعية البيرة في أميركا ، كما كافة المغتربين من أبناء مدينتنا ندين و نشجب هذا إلإعتداء الآثم ضد مسجد البر و ألإحسان و كل الممارسات و ألإعتداءات العنصرية ألأخرى التي يراد منها ترويع آلآمنين و ألإعداد لتنفيذ صفقة القرن المشؤومة و تنفيذ مخطط الضم ، و نطالب الهيئات الدولية ذات الاختصاص بملاحقة قطعان المستوطنين و حكومة الاحتلال قانونياً و على مختلف الصعد و سنفعل ما بوسعنا بالطرق القانونية المتاحة لحماية أبناء جاليتنا و أسرهم و عموم الشعب الفلسطيني من قطعان المستوطنين .
