About the Event 

The Al-Bireh Society Gala is the organizations larges community-building and fundraising event of the year! Come together with 500+ supporters of the ABS. The ABS is a non-profit, charitable educational Palestinian-American organization whose proud members derive their ancestry from the original family clans of the city of Al-Bireh, Palestine. The objective of the ABS is to serve our membership and the Palestinian, Arab, non-Arab, and charitable communities in the United States and abroad in Palestine. Join us in December 2022 to empower and lift the voice of our community. We seek to always maintain a positive relationship with our families in Al-Bireh Palestine so we can always strive to maintain the legacy of our beloved city. We hope to see you soon!

Who We Are 

The Al-Bireh Society (ABS) is building a grassroots movement of its constituents who live all over the United State of America. Our missions are to promote awareness and appreciation for the historical, cultural, and social heritage of Al-Bireh Palestine. The ABS’s mission seeks to perpetuate the Al-Bireh family by means of providing educational, humanitarian, financial, charitable, and cultural programs as well as social interaction, and to enhance and promote the interaction of its members to the Arabic culture and to promote our culture and heritage to those outside our community, to the American public at large, and to descendants of Al-Bireh living throughout the world. Our mission is to be accomplished as provided for within the Bylaws.

ABS is the proud that our organization has grown over the past couple of decades and we are thankful for our partners and family who have helped us expand our organization to several states in the US. We are hosting the ABS Gala is to raise funds to expand the ABS organization in other states. We are currently active in Washington DC/Virginia, Florida, Colorado, North Carolina, California, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee, and beyond over the coming decade.

ABS Programs  

Started in the early 1980’s the ABS started with a group of dedicated leaders who seeked to maintain a connection to our homeland Al-Bireh Palestine. These gathering grew into local and national meeting. There was additional meeting in Al-Bireh Palestine. Today the organization has grown to well over 3500 members. We have established programs in the US and in Al-Bireh Palestine. Some programs that were executed in 2020-2022 are shown below:

Scholarship Program

The Al-Bireh Scholarship Fund has successfully awarded 14 scholarships 2019-2021. Applicant were able to submit materials to the ABS Scholarship Committee. Each application was carefully reviewed for merit, financial need, and school level. The ABS has been generously funded by our members and we hope to continue this support. 

 

Business and Leadership Program

The Al-Bireh Society seek to create a business marketplace to highlight and showcase Birawi-made businesses. The goal is to have our membership to support Birawi owned businesses. ABS Connect

The ABS Connect committee works with our sister organizations in Al-Bireh Palestine to keep our membership in tune with current events and affairs that are happening in Al-Bireh Palestine. 

 

COVID19 Relief Fund

The ABS Covid19 Relief Fund was established to provide essential medical equipment and needs to help residents in Al-Bireh Palestine during the Covid19 pandemic. This fund is still open to provide relief efforts.
