Al Bireh Society Invigorated and Motivated our Members at this year Honor the Past-Own the Future 2018 Convention

This year hundreds were able to travel nationally and internationally to the Al Bireh Society 2018 Convention. The Mayor of Al Bireh Azzam Esmail, Dr. Hanan Asrawi, and UN Ambassador to Palestine Riyad Mansour were able to provide us with a road map of how we all can successfully participate to help Palestine and our homeland Al Bireh.

Additional successful break out sessions include:

  • The Palestine Leadership Workshop where Linda Sarsour, Sam Rasoul, Fadi Quran and FOSNA executive director Tarek Abuata were able to invigorate the youth and our members on how to be outstanding leaders in our local, national, or international platforms. This session drew in hundreds of our members and provided our youth with effective tools of how to be successful leaders in their communities.
  • The Legal Landscape in Palestine – Riyad Mansour, Yousef Shawkat, and Munif Treish were able to provide our members with the current issues of land in Palestine and in Al Bireh.
  • Empowering the Arab American Woman- Dr. Golbarg Bashi, Manal Deeb, and Wafa Ghanam all provided unique perspectives of how they literature, art, and traditional embroidery to educate and inspire women to take a step into entrepreneurship to educate the public about Palestine.
  • Debkeh 101- Baladnah Debkeh Troupe was able to educate our young members the basics of the debkeh. Their inspirational performance Friday night ignited the crowds!
